About the Book
Book One got you praying. Book Two is about the part nobody warns you about: the long middle, where nothing visibly changes and you start wondering if you imagined the whole thing.
This is prayer for the stretch after the emotion burns off. When the marriage is still hard. When the job is still grinding. When you’ve asked the same thing ninety days running and heaven has said nothing you can hear.
Standing firm is not a feeling. It’s a decision you make again tomorrow.
Why I Wrote It
The first time I prayed my way out of a pit, I thought that was the whole story. Then the ground got muddy again and I had no idea what to do with a God who wasn’t moving on my schedule.
Nobody had taught me how to wait. I had to learn it the slow way, on my knees, in the dark, with no evidence.
That’s what this book is: the waiting, written down honestly, so you don’t think something has gone wrong with you.

A Prayer
God, I’m still here. The answer hasn’t come and I’m tired of asking. I’m asking anyway. Hold me to the ground I’ve already taken. Amen.
