Refund Policy

1There are no refunds

Membership in The Watch is billed monthly. Everything in it is digital and you get the whole of it the moment you are charged, so payments are final and no refunds are provided.

That covers a month you did not use, a month you forgot about, a month you meant to cancel and did not, and a decision that it was not for you after all. Once a month is paid for, it is paid for.

There is no trial period and no partial month. When you cancel, the days you already paid for are yours to use and nothing is returned for the part you did not.

2Cancelling is not the same as a refund

You can cancel whenever you want. There is no notice to give, no form to argue with, and nobody is going to ask you to sit through a pitch first.

Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not undo the last one. You keep everything in the membership until the month you already paid for runs out, and after that the door closes and the card is not touched again.

To cancel, email me and I will do it. There is no cancel button inside The Watch yet, so that is the way for now and it is not a runaround: one message is enough and you do not have to give a reason.

Send it before your renewal date rather than after. A charge that has already gone through is not one I am going to reverse.

3When the billing goes wrong, I fix it

A mistake is not a refund. It is a mistake, and I will put it right.

If you were charged twice for the same month, charged after you cancelled, or charged for an account that was never yours, write to me and I will return that money. That is not me making an exception to the policy above. It is a different thing entirely: you were never supposed to be charged in the first place.

Tell me the email on the account and roughly when the charge appeared. That is enough for me to find it.

4Most of this site costs nothing

The blog, the essays, the prayers, the church guides, the 30-day path and the free book are free and always have been. There is no charge on any of it and so there is nothing to refund.

If you want to know what the membership is before you pay for it, read the free writing first. There is years of it and it is the same man writing.

5The books are not sold here

My books are sold on Amazon. When you buy one, that sale is between you and Amazon under their terms, and their returns policy applies rather than this page.

I cannot refund a book I did not sell you. If something is wrong with a copy, Amazon will sort it out faster than I can.

6Talk to me first

[email protected]. If something about a charge does not look right, email me before you call your bank. I am one man and I answer my own mail, and a dispute filed with a card company takes weeks to resolve something I can usually look at the same day.
